Dealer Training & Technical Enablement Manager
Summary
About us AIM builds autonomy for the real world - robots that move mountains. Our systems fuse hardware, robotics, autonomy, and mission-critical software into ruggedized, safety-critical machinery that operates across global job sites. As we scale worldwide, our success depends on the ability to enable OEM dealers and regional partners - to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and train end-users on AIM-powered machines. Dealers are the backbone of heavy-equipment operations. To scale globally, AIM must deliver a repeatable, certifiable dealer training and support ecosystem, similar to the dealer enablement programs run by industry OEM leaders. You will architect, launch, and own that ecosystem. About you You understand that scaling autonomy into the real world requires more than engineering excellence - it requires a dealer network that can confidently install, service, troubleshoot, and teach customers how to operate AIM’s systems. You thrive in the intersection of technical training, field operations, system reliability, and partner enablement. You have deep empathy for technicians, field mechanics, and dealer service managers. You think in systems: documentation, repeatability, safety, failure modes, and training readiness. You know what it takes to run a program that turns ambiguous tribal knowledge into clear SOPs, training curricula, and certification paths that allow AIM to scale without relying on AIM engineers at every install. You speak the languages of engineers, field techs, OEM service organizations, and business leaders. You enjoy transforming complex hardware-software systems into materials that non-engineers can understand and apply safely. About us together As AIM expands globally, our future depends on our ability to empower dealers just as major OEMs do through programs like Caterpillar Dealer Service Training, Komatsu CERT, John Deere’s Certified Technician Program, and Volvo Assist readiness frameworks. These programs set the industry standard for safe installations, rapid troubleshooting, and scalable field support. Your work will build AIM’s equivalent: a world-class dealer enablement program that reduces deployment friction, increases machine uptime, accelerates customer onboarding, and allows AIM to scale from dozens to thousands of autonomous machines..
About The Role
What you will own
Build AIM’s Dealer Training & Certification Program
You will architect and operationalize the end-to-end program, including:
- Certification levels (Installer, Troubleshooter, Pro Technician, Dealer Trainer)
- Training paths modeled on CAT/Komatsu/Deere OEM programs
- Safety, compliance, and operational readiness requirements
- Assessment rubrics, pass/fail criteria, and recertification cycles
- Scorecards and reporting demonstrating dealer competency and field readiness
Develop Dealer-Facing Technical Documentation
You will create and own the documentation that allows dealers - not AIM engineers - to perform correct, safe, repeatable work:
- Installation manuals for all AIM hardware & harnessing
- Diagnostic flows for field troubleshooting
- Safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Quick-start guides, jobsite checklists, and fault-reporting templates
- Standardized “What to Capture” data collection guides for faults, similar to OEM DTAC requirements
This documentation must meet the bar of “If it cannot be made into an SOP, it is not real.”
Deliver Training (Live, On-site, and Digital)
Design and run training sessions using modalities modeled on OEM dealer enablement:
- Classroom-style instruction
- Hands-on installations on training rigs and real machines
- Simulated faults and troubleshooting scenarios
- Online LMS modules and video walkthroughs
- Field certification at dealer sites or customer sites
Your training should be something a new technician at a OEM dealer can complete and immediately perform autonomous-installation work safely.
Build Mechanisms for Dealer Self-Sufficiency
You will create the systems that allow dealers to operate without relying on AIM engineers:
- Remote diagnostics frameworks (what dealers capture before escalation)
- Issue intake checklists
- Required data package templates for FDE engineering review
- Feedback loops for improving documentation and training
- “Red-flag” criteria that indicate when a dealer must escalate to AIM
You will work backwards from FDE pain points to remove AIM bottlenecks.
Cross-Functional Leadership Across AIM
You will collaborate with:
- FDE for training content, troubleshooting procedures, and fault taxonomy
- Hardware & Firmware for installation + calibration procedures
- AI & Software for system health, logging, and on-machine diagnostics
- Product for readiness gating, fieldability, and enablement metrics
- Operations & Supply Chain for training kits, tooling, and parts readiness
You will operate similarly to a TPM in your ability to drive clarity, alignment, and execution across teams.
Responsibilities
What success looks like
3 Months
- First AIM Dealer Training Program launched and certifying technicians
- All installation + troubleshooting work converted into dealer-ready SOPs
- First cohort of CAT/Komatsu/Volvo dealer techs capable of installing and troubleshooting autonomy kits
- FDE load reduced by >30% due to dealer self-sufficiency
12 Months
- Program adopted across multiple dealer regions and scaling globally
- Dealers performing >70% of installs without AIM assistance
- Dealers able to provide complete and high-quality fault data packages to FDE, reducing diagnostic time
- Dealer technicians training end customers directly
- Machine uptime measurably increased through improved first-response troubleshooting
