Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on technical leadership (by example) and guidance on multiple fronts (architecture/design, code reviews) to your reports

Independently own and drive multiple critical work streams, including vision/direction setting, overseeing overall planning and execution toward clear objectives with measurable key results

Uphold and expand extremely high technical excellence bar, and reflect it in design and coding best practices within your team

Work with leaders across the company and allies outside the company to deliver on AIM’s mission

Drive roadmap and priorities for your team, and work with dependencies across the company

Manage and grow a team of engineers to flawlessly deliver high impact projects

Partner with recruiting to attract and hire top talent; define overall hiring strategies for your team

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of professional hands-on software development experience

5+ years track record leading software engineering teams working on massive complex code bases in elite engineering environments

Proven track record designing, building, and deploying large scale systems (robotics, autonomous vehicles, machine learning systems are a plus)

Demonstrated sustained ability attracting and hiring top talent, including engineering leaders and staff engineers

Demonstrated ability of defining and driving complex initiatives/projects across multiple teams

A genuine enjoyment of learning and diving into the nuts-and-bolts of how things work

Excellent leadership and organizational skills

A strong communicator

A strategic thinker

Capable of working collaboratively across the organization to achieve shared goals
