Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership (by example) and guidance on multiple fronts (architecture/design, code reviews) to your reports
  • Independently own and drive multiple critical work streams, including vision/direction setting, overseeing overall planning and execution toward clear objectives with measurable key results
  • Uphold and expand extremely high technical excellence bar, and reflect it in design and coding best practices within your team
  • Work with leaders across the company and allies outside the company to deliver on AIM’s mission
  • Drive roadmap and priorities for your team, and work with dependencies across the company
  • Manage and grow a team of engineers to flawlessly deliver high impact projects
  • Partner with recruiting to attract and hire top talent; define overall hiring strategies for your team

  • Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional hands-on software development experience
  • 5+ years track record leading software engineering teams working on massive complex code bases in elite engineering environments
  • Proven track record designing, building, and deploying large scale systems (robotics, autonomous vehicles, machine learning systems are a plus)
  • Demonstrated sustained ability attracting and hiring top talent, including engineering leaders and staff engineers
  • Demonstrated ability of defining and driving complex initiatives/projects across multiple teams
  • A genuine enjoyment of learning and diving into the nuts-and-bolts of how things work
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • A strong communicator
  • A strategic thinker
  • Capable of working collaboratively across the organization to achieve shared goals
