Electrical Engineer
You will work on:
- Embrace your entrepreneurial mindset; work closely with the product team to transform vision and customer needs into designs and a hardware roadmap.
- Lead the end-to-end design and bring up on the machines (schematic, circuit simulation, layout, integration) of next-gen hardware modules, including compute/MCU requirements, sensor selection, fault-detection & redundant operation, and power systems.
- Own the hardware & firmware design of automated test & validation systems to be used at the factory and for in-field debug.
- Partner with vendors & assembly house(s) to create a manufacturing supply chain.
- Partner with product to define test & reliability specs for humidity, temp, and vibration.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a cross-functional electrical engineer design role
- Extensive experience with PCB design in Altium Designer & system integration
- Hands-on experience with DMM, oscilloscope, SMT/THT soldering
- Proven track record effectively managing vendors, including sensor providers and assembly
- Experience with fault tolerant system design at the hardware and firmware level
- Ability to perform analog and digital hardware validation, debugging, and failure analysis
- Experience with simulations - SPICE, IBIS
- EMI / EMC testing experience
Bonus Qualifications:
- MCU with firmware development
- Ability to design and implement performant, well-written embedded code for microcontrollers
- Experience working with CAN, including decoding messages & debug
- Power electronics
- Designing and testing to functional safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 15998, ISO 10218)
- Experience designing, building, and testing electrical harnesses for rough environments
